Buyer Attitude

Consumers attitude has reach its highest lever in more than four years. Optimism about the economy, job market, and income are the reason. Almost half of consumers believe the economy has improved. Consumer confidence is still very vulnerable, but hopefully this new found confidence will improve buyers perspective. Buyers are eager in York County to do deals.

Buyers Brokerage

Investment brokers use to accept open listing as the standard way to sell property. Most commercial investment real estate professionals no longer do this. A broker representing a buyer works the buyer like an open listing. The buyer does not have to stay with the broker. Brokers can fix this by employing buyers brokerage agreements, in which the buyer agrees to use the broker exclusively. Buyers brokerage benefits both the broker and client.

Buy Local in York County

The York County Regional Chamber of Commerce is working to make shopping locally a habit. May 26 is the York County Buy Local Day. Shopping locally makes economic sense because 45% of every dollar spent is put back into York County. Shopping locally is helping retailers and helping the local economy. This only makes York County stronger.

York County Businesses

How will York County Businesses take a slice of the Democratic National Convention pie? York County will see hotel rooms filled. York County restaurants, convenience stores, and gas stations should see an increase in business. Some are predicting a 10 to 15 percent increase in sales. Committee members were impressed with York County's efforts to get involved in the action. York County businesses are part of a vendors database that the DNC committee will use to fulfill needs. Businesses need to know their competitors and how to work together. Hopefully the vendor list for York County will be able to be used in the future when large events come to Charlotte.

York County Council

York County Council moved to abolish the new draft guild lines for development. York county has been working since 2009 to revise the laws of development. The Unified Development Ordinance governs commercial and residential development in York County. The update would make development easier and up to date. York County Council held a few meeting with builders and developers to receive input. Developers do not want projects help up in planning commission. Taking a look at the development guide lines will help speed up this process for York County.

Jobs in York County

Ross stores is going to open a distribution and warehouse facility in York County. This should generate 600 new jobs. The new distribution center should be open in 2013 and will be used to distribute merchandise to its retail locations. Ross has found York County a good place to do business. Ross has already made significant investments in York County. This addition will help to make York County one of the most business-friendly counties.
